Hi HR

I need some help with this problem I'm trying to get this Mixer Behringer X1832USB Xenyx working instead of the Reason Record one.

Any help on how to set this up if it is possible.

Thank You
DX

Hi thanks PC though it is not the problem I've got I'm trying to use the sliders on my Behringer X1832USB Xenyx Mixer instead of the Reason Record Mouse way.

Why do you think its possible what you want to do? That mixer isn't a control surface for computer-based software, is it? I'm quite certain it is not.

As Typhoid Hippo says, the X1832USB isn't a software controller. It won't do what you want it to do.
As far as I know, it can only be used for routing audio signals from the mixer to the software and for routing monitoring signals from the software back to the mixer.

You'd be needing something more along these lines: Clickity click here :)

Ok thanks for your info I've just got a 2nd shop that is going to buy the Mixer.

So I don't make the same mistake again can you recommend me a Control surface where I can use it as a Mixer and maybe some effects of a budget of £150 or below.

I use about 8-9 tracks most of the time if this helps.

Cheers

I don't know of any control surface/mixer you can buy for that money.
Mixers that can be used as controllers for DAWs are usually the high end (and therefore high priced) digital mixers.

Why would you need "effects"?
Reason has effects already.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're using it for.

Generally the two things are completely separate, although they look the same.

A control surface is a big fancy mouse/keyboard and that's it.

A mixing desk routes audio and can have the option to apply effects etc.

Seldom if ever are the the two combined, and certainly not at that price point.
Digi 003 is close, and even the it's really just an interface and a control surface bolted together. It doesn't have traditional mixer/routing capabilities.

In a studio setup I'd ditch the idea of an audio mixer completely, unless there's some really good reason to use one.

You may find a used mackie control / command 8 for close to your budget, maybe.

We're discussing the uselessness of control surfaces for mixing (and their usefulness for transport and locate) here: https://homerecording.com/bbs/gener...recording-computers/cubase-controller-341595/

He asked about Cubase, specifically, but only because he doesn't realize the DAW is largely irrelevant in such a discussion.

Are you wanting to also use whatever you get for live mixing? If not - I suggest dumping the idea of physical faders altogether (again - see the discussion in that thread for reasons why).
