Behringer X V-amp

Do any of you have experience with the Behringer X V-Amp modelling / effects preamp?

I have a keyboard amp which takes line-level and cleanly amplifies it


signal chain:
electric --> preamp --> Keyboard amp

so I'd like to get a preamp for doing electric guitar distortion sounds (genres: 60s rock [Who], country [Shania/Chely/Martina], blues [Clapton]). The primary use would be jamming and live


I also use an acoustic pickup so clean raising of instrument level to line level would be good

I have had the V-amp pro since February and just discovered that it is only really good for two things. One is direct recording but it sounds like shit when you monitor it directly. te second is for just a pre-amp effects processor. I use my guitar amps clean sound and maybe a distortion pedal and basically use the Behringer as an effects processor. It is not the most high tech thing out there but nothing else comes close to it for the price.

I like the sound of my keyboard amp much better than any of the cheap guitar amps I've auditioned. The sounds I need are:
1. clean raised to line level - can I just connect a DI/ mic pre to do this?
2. distortion - the more tube-y the better
3. wah

Can I get anything for $100 to do this (used is OK)

I'm getting a TC Electronics M300 so the reverb/chorus effects of a pedal are less important. But I need to raise from instrument level to line level to use it

PS - how do they get that country guitar sound which - to me - sounds consistent across modern artists

Hey, sathyan.

I used a Digitech RP50 for the electric guitar parts in the song in my signature line. It has cabinet voicing, so it would be correct to plug it into a keyboard amp. For $60, you almost can't go wrong. Plus, it's got a great tuner.
