Behringer upgrade to...

Well its time for me to upgrade... I have outgrown the Behringer 1804 and am looking at my options...


I am thinking about going with a Mackie or Phonic board. I will be using it for live sound as well as in my home studio. I will need enough inputs for 3 vocal's 3 amps with mics on them a keyboard and drum mics... I was thinking of going with a 16 channel board...


Any criticism or comments would be great


I would like to keep it under $1000 if possible

might be looking at more than $1000 if you want a board with 16 pres...

A used TASCAM or Soundcraft would be more in your $1000 budget.

If you buy the Mackie new,(1604VLZ) expect that to top out at over 1K after tax depending upon where you shop.

Plus, with the Mackie you can only track eight channels at a time.
