Has anyone here ever checked out some of the Behringer Ultra DI boxes? I'm thinking about getting one just for recording bass but I can't find any reviews on 'em.

I have one and it is okay. Not great, not terrible. It works. I don't use it for recording much.. mostly for on stage.

The Behringer DI is a copy of the BSS AR133 DI. It sounds nowhere near as good.

Their passive ones are OK, the actives are disappointing, if you ask me.

The Ultra G (G 100) is great. The cab sim is very impressive for a $35 active DI box.

Ok, so they're basically somewhere between not that great too good enough for the money.
On a side note, does anyone know of a good schematic for either an active or passive box? I was thinking of simply making one because I assume I can get something of a higher quality for the same price or less that way.
