this powered mixer has got 250 watts stereo, and 500 bridged. my bands playing a battle of the bands and htey want us to bring our own pa which i think is really lame. but...will this be powerful enough for the vocals to get through the school auditorium/gym that this battle of the bands will be held at? also, we want to setup monitors with it too. is this a good powered mixer for that? ive done some research and like it, but jsut need to know if its enough power and how hte monitors will hook up with it. can we hook up two monitors or only one? and if we do monitors do we have to run it in birdge/mono mode? thanks alot guys

No it will not have enough power for F.O.H Duty.

For Battle of the Band contests normally there is a Rig provided by the organiser.

Usually the venue is much larger than a new band would perform in (because of the number of bands, followers etc.) and sometimes a pretty large P.A. rig is required.

If you still want your own P.A. then I would suggest a seperate Mixer / Power amplifier. There are some amazing bargains out there at the moment.
But remember that most of your money would have to go on the F.O.H. speakers which can cost a fortune if you require a good sound.

The pmx2000 is OK for duo's etc. for use in small bars and clubs.
