Are the UltraDyne Pro or the UltraCurve Pro stolen designs?
 
The Conspiracy is spreading.

I just found out that all those guitars at the local musicstore were copied from Fenders and Gibsons. Whats next, Isnt Anything Sacred.:D

C'mon, man.

There's a big difference

Cutting a similar body to an extremely well-known brand shape out and stuffing it with your own hardware, where the consumer is fully congnizant of the fact that you mimiced that well known design? That's a consumer choice.

Picking out a far lesser-known brand cable tester, opening it up, copying the schematics down to the last capacitor and precise sheet metal dimensions, and reproducing it in your shops and presenting to the consumer that YOU created and developed the design is deception. It's also theft.

Where did you get your dissection/information about the Rode NT2?

It was the one Rode mic that was allegedly totally Chinese. I have spoken to Rode, admittedly not about the NT2, and the only information they freely gave was that........ yes, they do use Chinese components but the bodies are machined here in Aust., and assembly is done here, any other comments were evasive in nature. Personally, knowing something of their past business ethics, I wouldn't believe it till I saw it for myself.

Ty Ford posted a message he got from his friend at Rode concerning the NT2 to rec.audio.pro awhile back. Someone out there had said the B-2 was the same mic as the NT2, which wasn't exactly the case. I'll see if I can find it again...

AFAIK Rode still obtains capsules from China, though the NT1000 and NTK capsule is a really nice edge-terminated unit, don't know where they get it. They make the body and PCB in Austrailia for those two - they're works of art. A review of those two is on prorec.com, with nice closeup pics. "

I'd like to try an NTK...

BEHRINGER takes strong objection to your baseless accusation of us stealing
Ebtech's designs. The
layout of the top of the device is simple and functional. There can hardly
be any trademark or trade dress protection which can subsist on this design.
The hardware and software in the product are designed by our own R&D
department independently. We bring to you the analogy of the simple
functional design of an electrical adaptor. We are of the view that this
product is similar and houses no intellectual property rights that is
registrable nor attributable to Ebtech.
If you are aware of any intellectual property protection that subsists in
Ebtech's product, we would appreciate if you can furnish us with the
information for further investigation.
If not, we strongly object to your act of sending such baseless emails which
damage the reputation of BEHRINGER and is defamatory of us and demand that
such actions be stopped immediately. We will pursue all legal action(s)
necessary against such conduct.

Ya know, it'd be cool if they payed the company to put their name on it, like Walgreens does, but they are just stealing.

Wow! I never realized everyone felt that Behringer sucked that bad. I've got a behringer multi effects unit in my miniscule studio (to match a miniscule budget) and, bang for the buck, I feel like a millionaire. Thanks behringer for not over charging me for the same exact product that your competitors offer for nearly twice as much.
 
Theft of intellectual property is not only illegal; it is wrong. Consumers who benefit from such practices should not be blamed for their ignorance. However, defense of such practices is merely an effort to justify complicity in the matter.
 
I've got a virtualizer and I'm not even sure what exactly compares. I know that alesis has the quadraverb, and digitech makes some too, All I do know is that the virtualizer has got any effect I'll be using for a while and it sounds great to me. for $100 I don't think I could ask for more, and The other comprable stuff that I've seen even on ebay is going for more than that (mine was new). I don't know what else compares exactly.
I challenge you to show me a processor that compares to this behringer product. I'd be intrested in buying one. but I'd bet that the price isn't under $100

I saw an ad for that Tascam in Recording or Mix magazine yesterday..I forget. But they even stole mackies advertising line for the product!

"If you have one of these (protools pic) - you need one of these! (tascam hd thingy)"

I couldn't believe it. Hehe.

Listen... everyone bashing behringer SHOULD know that their goal is not to make top of the line equipment, but to make equipment that small time folks can afford. Their design is a 'rip off' because of how people react to a brand name product's appearance. Seems everyone knows what a Mackie mixer looks like, and it seems that everyone know that the Behringer one looks like it. For some people, that sells, cause looks DO sell, (Its like saying u married ur wife SOLELY on her personality) and that means $$ goes into the pockets of Behringer. Good for Behringer. Carvin is another example similar to Behringer. While not making the same LOOKING product, they make a product that people can afford, not to do professional shit with. Everyone complains about their stuff, but for what you pay for, its good. Definately not the best, we all know that, but its what we pay for. And lastly... who really cares if its stealing? Is that going to make it work better, or worse? Ummm... no... If anything it makes things simpler since everyone seems to know the layout of the "stolen" product.

Blackmusic: Why don't you post links to your music so I can dissect and analyze all your structures and lyrics and then record my own version and loudly proclaim to the rest of the world that I wrote those songs?
