I've got a variety of gear: Roland, Yamaha, Presonus, EV, dB Technologies, AKG, Rode, Technics, Shure, Behringer and others . . . being an ingrained scavenger, I am always on the scrounge for something that will do.
The Behringer headphone amp has been great. The C2 SDCs are a big surprise: at around $AUS 100 a pair, they are amazing value for money . . . for live mixing they replace and outshine SM57s. And even if you don't like them, if you haven't squandered a fortune.
I've got a variety of headphones. I don't like the Behri HPX1000s, nor the cheaper and nastier HPM1000s . . . but the HPX2000s (which are open backed) have a great open and clear sound, and way better, in my view, than the AKG K66s, which sound boxy in comparison.
I had a little eight XLR Behri mixer for a while, but one of the mute buttons got stuck on it (I couldn't un-mute it!) . . . but I've got a Roland Sound Canvas and an old KR33 keyboard, both with dodgy micro-switches, so that problem is not unique to Behri.
I didn't like the virtualiser, and I don't use it now. I do like the Digital EQ (DEQ2496) and have two of them for live mixing, both working flawlessly.
Someone once observed that Behri is good value for money, but you need to take care: they won't do the distance on the road that, say, Klark Teknik does, i.e. they are inherently not as robust (but that robustness, however, has a commensurate price tag).
Nevertheless, I dropped a Rode NT5 and broke the capsule housing (sadness). I managed to fix it (less sadness). But I also dropped a C2 with no damage.
Here's the thing . . . they say buy cheap, buy twice. But an NT5 is still cheap in comparison to other SDCs. Even so, it's five times the price of the C2. If only the C2 had broken, not the NT5 . . . I don't care about buying twice at Behri prices, but at five times that amount, I squirm a bit.
A friend of mine has a Mackie desk . . . and after the trouble he has had with it, I swore I would never get one. I expect that all brands have their duds from time to time, and me swearing not to get one is probably judging the barrel by the one wormy apple.
