i had initially bought a behringer ultramizer for 89 bux. i hated it. Just send it back and got a composer pro. BIG difference. The composer pro is a much better piece of equipment for 10 bux more.

That's ultimately the worst thing about Behringer - totally hit-miss proposition. Some of their products (like the Autocom, Multicom, Composer Pro) are great. Some of them are pure shite. Only thing you can do is get as much info on it as you can before you buy (but then that's what I do with any kit I buy)

Best thing to do is try it before you buy it ;)

the ultramizer is a limiter, the composer is a compressor

its actually a few features, all geared at volumizing sound. compression, limiter, "ultramizer", exciter, etc etc

yeah, but im sure that the compressor is not the same one as the composer.

the composer is a great compressor, i have quite a few of them qhich are used along side much higher priced compressors.

Good & Bad with Behringer

I agree with Griffinator about good and bad aspects of Behringer products.

I use 2 COMPOSER PRO compressors : fully satisfied
I use 1 ULTRADYNE 9024 finalizer : fully satisfied (what a price! less than $200 for a 6-band compressor+limiter+enhancer+...)
I use 2 DI100 DI boxes : fully satisfied

I would definitely avoid to buy a mixer or a voice channel or a mike or a PA system from Behringer (I tested them and hated them !).

Patrick, you just nailed my opinion of their gear.

i have 9 composers which i take out with me for live recording. i use them just for peak limiting basically!...fully satisfied...:-)

i am glad they have some god stuff. they r cheap! i do hate their instructions in 19 different languages though . :)

After discovering Behringer's business practices (see thread "Behringer is at it again") I wish to hereby renounce any endorsement of Behringer gear I may have made.

Quality or not, theft is theft.
