Once I decide to start playin around with these sounds, how do I go about gettin the edited parameters into the V-Amp?

I'm guessing midi.

I'm guessing I'll have to get a converter to go to USB. Thanks, deep down I kinda knew that....makes sense.

I found a USB to Midi converter on Musicians Friend. Got two on the way. I'll let you know how they work.

v-amp

go with the v-amp...i enjoy it very nice sounds. Hooking it straight to midi sounds alot better than micing my ampeg SVT-3 pro. The V-Amp already has full Midi connectivity so why don't you just get a Midi Sport and hook it to your computer so in the future you can have the option of running more midi things into your computer through the midi sport.

I probably would, but I don't use my computer to record.

Braincase,

Back to the original diversion about Lawrence, Ks.

One of my best friends in highschool and the one that got me interested in playing and writing guitar owns Love Garden Records there in Lawrence and is one of your neo-folks blue grass types although we played the alternative rock before the term "alternative" existed.

I'm also in the just under 40 on the odometer...
....just a little shout out...
....back to your V-Amp discussion.

ooh, dafduk, didn't you know? Musicians beying themself. What you expected?

I have a V-Amp2 also and I love it. I was trying to use it for my bass......but my bass developed a short somewhere so I gotta get that fixed. It was working fine up to that point. I'm gonna have to check into the bass model though.
Back when I was giggin (long time ago) one of my fellow 6 stringers was usin an Ampeg amp as a boat anchor! LMAO

So it it not good to use a bass in the guitar v-amp ?
I'm wanting to get something that I use for both guitar and bass. The PSA-1 looks to be the best, but kind of expensive..

(1) I 've used a (guitar) V-AMP with bass and had great results into a Fostex VF160. I don't gig live on bass anymore (not for two decades). It's the least expensive of the POD/GNX/GT/Stomp modeling group and gives you great bang for buck, especially for recording situations.

(2) SysEx stuff (editing, saving, etc.) is done via MIDI.

(3) Using a POD or V-Amp live is probably going to require a MIDI foot controller, especially one with an expression pedal (or two).

(4) There are inexpensive USB MIDI interfaces. I usually use a Midiman Midisport 2x2. Painless. More than I usually need but handy when I need to sync multiple devices or go beyond 16 MIDI channels.

(5) You can go directly to www.behringer.com and download the manual, software, see th latest V-AMP reincarnations, etc.

(6) I'd say that the primary application for modeling pedals IS recording, as evidenced by the hoops that many users jump through to use them live.

(7) My V-AMP judgements are based on the original version---I have read reviews stating that the V-2 is superior.

Good Luck,
Paj
