I love the way my Behringer B-1 sounds when I mic my acoustic but I was wondering if I could use this mic to mic a Strawberry Blonde Acoustic Amplifier. I thought I heard that you could damage a condenser mic if you use it on an amp. Is this true?

You can damage anything if you play it loud enough. Simple as that. I really dunno about your B1, though. Never tried it...

You should be fine. People use LD's on amps all the time.

This is a Behringer mic he's talking about.

You might want to reconsider that advice. :D

You could probably do a lot more damage to your ears with that kind of setup. :D Just don't crank the aural exciter on that Strawberry.

Buck62, that thread you posted was about the SP B1. Read the last few threads. Everyone is too quick to attack Behringer just because everyone else does. People need to actually try a product before attacking it rather than just going with the flow of the forum.

You bring up a good point . . . but there in this case, there happens to be good reason that "everyone else does," and a good reason the "flow of the forum" goes a certain direction. After enough people have bad experiences with something, word gets out. It's a very simple and elegant case of a "cause>effect" relationship in action.
