Hi,
I'm new at using Cubase, and I'm kinda stuck atm. I recorded a track with my 4 track recorder, and converted it to .wav file and dragged into Cubase SX (ves. 3.1.1) and for some reason it plays it back 10x faster than what its supposed to be? I've listened to the track in Win Media player... and its perfect.... What am not doing? Or doing wrong?

Please help out :(

Cheers,
Stan

Could be a mismatch of sample rates?

Is the sample rate of the original .wav the same as the project you're dragging it in to?

Yeah I'll pretty much put money on it being that. Best way to tell is to right click on the wav in question and click properties, it should tell you somewhere what the sample rate is.

Then in Cubase you need to go to the 'Project' menu, and 'Project setup' and set the sample rate to match the audio file.

Or if you need you project to be at specific sample rate, and the file doesn't match, when you import the file into the pool there should be a dialog box asking if you want to convert the file to the projects sample rate, just check that box. To do this you will also need to check the 'Save to project folder' box also. But saving imported files to project folder is good practice anyway IMHO. That way the whole project is kept inside its own folder and can be moved around.

I'm probably starting to state the obvious now...so I will go back into my little corner. Hope its of some use to someone anyway :)

Thanks for your reply...

Yeah, I found that out by mucking around with it the other day... Thanks anyway
