Definetly not worst ever.
The vox is a tad dominant.. And the instruments could IMO use some honing, a tad of eq maybe...

But overall, OK, everything is audible, even the vocals on top.

It's a really nice tune....I'd love to hear a higher quality version, as I think Myspace is hurting the real sound a bit.

The voice is really nice...very pretty. The music sounds good from here, and seems very well played, and mixed. It seems that at 128K, the file compression is hurting the cymbals. They are a bit washy. email me a higher quality version if you would like me to post it. 192 or higher should bring out some of the sounds a bit better.

Nice tune man....

Nice to see you Paul.:)

Overall it sounds very good, she has a nice voice and its a good song. The cymbals indeed are a bit harsh. The whole "loud" section is a but harsher than one would expect. Maybe some eq work on the guitars. There is a lot of stuff competing in the midrange frequencies.

I think in general there is too much focus on the high-end drum stuff. I am nitpicking, its very well done.

I'm listening on $40 cans, FWIW. The overall balance of the mix is good with a few nits:

The cymbals are definitely too brash.

The call/response portion of the vocals before the guitar solo needs greater differentiation between the two portions. Theres a few spots throughout where some pitch correction would help. I'd bring them down a notch, too.

Hello Dogman, fancy meeting you here:)
And David, it is a pleasure to correspond with you again, I hope you are keeping fit and well:cool:

Jouni and supercreep - hello!

All - many thanks for you feedback, I definitely think there is an EQ issue - it was professionally mastered but using only top class monitor speakers and when you play it on anything less than that, it sounds harsh.

This song won the songwriter of the year competition for Becki at the Vocaltech institute in London this year where she obtained her Diploma in Music. She is now staying on to do her Degree but concentrating on her songwriting and performing.

This is a demo for her, so its important we get it right.;)

This is a lesson for everybody: use several monitoring options. Cars, Boomboxes, home stereos etc.
