Bass!!!

Ok,

I am sequencing from my computer, with an Alesis QS6.1 keyboard and trying to record my songs on my Tascam 414 portastudio. My tracks usually have a lot of Bass in them, so as you may have already discovered, the sound is distorted when I try to record it with my MKII. I have tried everything, from turning the internal EQ of the QS6.1 down, to turning the low EQ on the MKII down while recording. What can I do?

Just a suggestion since I'm not familiar with your rig but I am familiar with synths;

Try recording your bass line on a single track; then you can EQ up or down depending on what you are after.
