I use to play my guitar in my bass amp, and my bass in my guitar amp, and try to get interesting combinations, but many people say in can have negative side effects.
I don't see the problem with guitar in amp bass, but very low frequencies damaging a guitar speaker on the long makes more sense to me, what do you think?

Chris Squire of Yes used a guitar amp IIRC but with bass rolled off. Bass speakers/coils are designed for more power and lower frequencies. You can play through a guitar amp but avoid loud volume that can damage the speakers. If you hear flapping then turn it down. Works good for recording at lower volumes.

Speaker are a big issue - as Gerry explained above. You won't find many guitarists who'll let you play a bass through their amp particularly if you are using the full bottom end & don't scoop the mids. Also, a bass amp is set up to optimise bass response & manage those frequencies.
