Hey guys,

My brother and the other guitarist in our band usually play live and record through a Line 6 POD XT Live and i gotta say.. i love em.... they give out great sounds at great quality.

Im looking for a simliar idea for my bass.

I've tried to find something in the same realm and have looked at some line 6 stuff... but it just doesnt seem like they try as hard for bass.

I want some killer distortion... multiple varieties... delay... reverb... filtering... octave... a lot of stuff... and i dont want to buy a bunch of diff pedals.

anyone know of anything similar to the XT Live in terms of use and quality?

Thanks

Just out of interest, have you tried your bass through the guitarists' pedal ?
Perhaps I just never came across the right one but I've moreorless always found that effects specifically for the bass are pretty lame, whereas when I've put the bass through guitar things, the sounds generally are better. They're not all marvelous, but those that are really are.

I use Line 6 Podfarm for bass recording. My latest trick is a dual channel with a 'rock' bass on one (slighly distorted) and 'Subsonic' on the other one - giving a deep subwoofer sound. Recorded on separate tracks then mixed together during mixdown.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I will try putting my bass through the pod but im guessing the low frequencies might not mend well with the programs.

And mjb, that works fine for just a distorted sound when recording, but i'd like a lot more dynamic than that for recording AND live

Ah, well ... this is the Home Recording forum, not the Live Bass forum! :) Have you tried the Boss line of bass pedalboards?

mjb this is perfectly suitable to be in a home recording forum. thanks for tryin.

I have a bass POD xt.Not the rack mount one ,just the kidney bean shaped one. This thing sounds really good.Tons of cool tones, effects, pre sets. You should give it a try.Sounds great for recording.

Didja see my smiley face? I was just kidding. However, this is the "Recording Techniques' section of the forum ...
