What kind of bass drum head are you guys recording on? Do any of you use a pinstripe and if so....are you liking the results?
Thanks,
RF

I really like the Powerstroke III.....however.....

I've been hearing really good things about the following combos:

Evans EMAD batter with Evans EQ2 resonant

-or-

Aquarian Superkick II batter with Aquarian Regulator resonant

I'm probably going to try the Evans combo when it's time to change bass drum heads...

I use pinstripes, and I like them. I also use a Danmar kickpads (Not the "Metal" version) which have a Graphite disk and Hard Mallets to add more attack.

I had been useing the Aquarian Superkick II - however I recently went to the Evans EMAD.

I think the Powerstroke, Superkick, EMAD and even the Evans EQ series are preferrable to the Pinstrip (on a kick drum)

the super kick.

i use an aquarian super kick drum head on the back and a plan reco head w/t a muffling ring on the front. and i don't need any pillows or stuffing to get a good sound all i do is tun both heads as low as they can go before they rinkle.

Aquarian Superkick II, it's the best sounding head I've found, and I've tried a lot of them. Great versitility depending on muffling, as well. I use them on both my kits.
