hell, that's how it's spelled? i've been micing things for years. :D

bass sounds like it has a slow phaser on it. i did'nt know true played bass.
You have a very good ear Travis....After I recorded I added some Phaser. I can't remember which phaser style I used, but the one I chose made a very subtle difference. That is probably why it was hard for some to differentiate.

I went into cubase and damn, I didn't save it, but I think Cubase automatically makes a copy...I will check and if it did..post the one without the phaser on it. Then you can hear the subtle difference. I didn't want any distortion, cause I thought it would really hinder the listening. I am babbling...I know nothing about proper recording. :D

You didn't know True played bass Travis, cause she doesn't !!!!... ;)

Thanks for the listen Travis !! :)

Not a lot of low frequency info on that track. If you could blend it with a DI signal, it would probably sound pretty sweet.
Thanks Scrubs. I may try that. Thanks for the listen!! :)

Cheers True! I listened to the whole track and it got stuck in my head for a while. :p

I agree with scrubs - blending with a DI should give you a very useable sound. Something like a Morley switcher to split the signal: http://www.samedaymusic.com/product--MLYABY

Hanging heavy blankets (moving blankets if you have them) in a "V" in front of the amp will help tighten, focus the ambience.

Watermelon asks a good question here - if you paint the basement a different color, you'll get a whole new bass-thumpin' vibe going. :D
:D :D :D :D :D That is the very reason I recorded it..got stuck in my head too....but being my head has a problem with memory, I thought, what if it goes away and I kinda liked it...so I recorded. :D

I checked out the Morely switch. I may just get one of those. Always happy to buy more gear... Thanks for the push.... :p

I will check on the blankets too Rez...thanks for all the good suggestions.

LOL !!! The red has to stay. ;)

Mic'd.... ;)

At least that's how I say it.
As far as the bass, not sure myself. It has good sound, and your playing aint bad at all, True. That's all that matters.
Thanks DOG !!! I am getting braver !!! ;)

who's the guy in the background bossing you around true? apparently he does'nt know who you are.......the pres of 1-900-BABE.
What guy? I sent him to the SHED for some programming. :D

Sounds good True! When I'm doing a "serious" bass take, I like to mic the amp in a seperate room, usually just an SM57, an SM57 around the 12th fret of my Bass (playing in a seperate room) and I use my Line out to an Aguilar preamp and record all 3 tracks. I like the way my amp sounds alone, and I like the added definition from the line out/bass pre. The mic on the neck just adds a little accent. I haven't figured out yet if I'd benefit from a real DI box on the ass end of the line out/preamp chain, but /shrug

Thanks for the listen and suggestions Creamy !! I will have to try mic'ing that way too. :)

Oh nooooooooo....what have ya done Rez?!! Do you know how long my wish list is already? That will have to wait though. The next Gear I am saving up for now, and will be dropping hints to my kids for Christmas as to what mom wants, and how it could be so easy to just pool togather donations for
a Strat kit. I will pull things in my favour, with the naked baby picture issue.... :D :D ;)
