Anyone know of some basic MIDI software (Windows PC-based) that I could use for sequencing? I want absolutely no frills (no recording, no samples, just pure cheap & easy MIDI sequencing).

Thanks!

Cubase SE is $99 and has excellent MIDI (you can ignore features you don't use; but SOMETIME you'll need 'em....)

Or go to www.hitsquad.com; great site of cataloged music production software.

Cubasis £60 cheap as you like easy to get your head around it supports up to 8 vst instruments the rest might have to be General midi sounds with no frills. :) good luck

JAZZ ++ freeware from www.jazzware.com
It's free ... easy to use, etc. Check out the website. There are links for a "How To" etc

It will work with a PC @ 90 Mhz and 32 meg of RAM
I am using it at home with Win98SE, Pentium II @ 350 Mhz for 4 years.
It even worked on my old Pentium 100 Mhz

Avoild FLStudio (as it's now known) unless you're into loops and samples. The MIDI editing facilties are limited compared to pretty much any other sequencer from the last 10 years! I recently brought the latest version only to ditch it and go back to Pro Audio 7 (yes, that old!).
