Hi everybody!
Next week I gonna do some homerecording-stuff with my band. Our drummer (he's the only one earning money)went to a good studio and that was very expensive. So I don't wanna mess up with my part.
So my question: Is it better to record the base with mics or via D.I. or line out?
A few people told me that mics can't get the full range in a compact sound...
I gonna use:
Bases: Ibanez TR 5-string; Human Base (4-string); Cort (acoustic-base); Vester Stage Series (frettless).
Amps: Glockenklang Soul; Warwick Wamp 280.
Box: Glockenklang 2x10.

Excuse my bad english! Rock On

DI can have some good results - very clean and clear. But if you wanna get dirty mic the cab. Far nicer tone in my opinion.

I'd say mic the cab aswell as running the bass through the DI, than mix them together and get the right blend you want, whether you want more of the "dirty" sound or the "clean".
