Man, this is pretty crazy stuff right here! Mixingwise I'd say the song lacks some bass... maybe try bringing the bass up some. Very tight sounding track!

Listening on shitty speakers at moment.
Wouldnt say OHs down. although kik is overpowering at times. Try automating the volume of the kick when it goes into rapid double kick hits, as it sounds more natural to have less power on doubles although by the sound of it its the same drummer as in PMC #12 and he is one hell of a drummer. :eek:
Bring the overall level of the kikc down a tad also. Snare sounds fine to me.
But as I said, Im listening on shitty speakers. Cant handle not having my headphones! hope I dont miss the deadline for PMC#12 as ive got alot of work to do still.

By the way great sounding mix.

I think it sounds pretty close. Very cool sounds. Maybe a bit more bottom end, but that could be a personal thing.

For this type of music I think the mix is awesome! However, the cymbals do seem to get lost and the bass to me is non-existent, but that's cos my computer speakers arent great at the low-end freq's so, if you got this on CD, go blast it in all your cd players and if the speakers rattle, you're In Like Flynn! Of course, if that's the reaction you want, otherwise keep the low-end at a minimum so it doesnt get muddy.

From what I'm hearing, the guitars are up-front, in-your-face which is what we want with this type of metal. Bassdrum and snare should retaliate with their own brutality to keep up with the guitars' assault ala Pete Sandoval!

The bass? Well, as said, it would be a good idea to keep a balanced mix between the bass and bassdum. Otherwise... killer track! Killer recording! Reminds me of my days of jammin’ with the old-school grindcore bands from the scummy streets of Los Angeles! Ahhh the sweet mem’ries!

This is actually my drummer from my death/thrash band (different drummer, but equally as good).

No probs Finster.
Listening on my norm of monitor headphones finally.
I can say its pretty loud.

Bass is a bit hidden. Also the lo end seems to creep out a little at times. A bit of compresion on the lo end might work well.
The vox are unfitting by a "baw hair" scottish term for pubic hair or (very small amount). :)

Finster- not my fav style of metal but it sounds pretty good. I would like to hear a little more of the ride/hats when he plays them but i guess that has more to do with overhead balance. I think the crashes/etc...are at a good level. Didn't catch much low end on my speakers but im listening at a low volume and just walked in from a 12 hour work day so who knows haha.

I know i may be alone on this one, but frankly i hate that metal has to have bass guitars.

Like i always mix the songs with guits, drums and vox, and im so pleased!

Then i have to put the damn bass in there....

I mean...blues?...Love the bass!
Jazz....Love the bass there too!
But metal?...its only usefull live IMO, in mixing i just use it to fill the 60-200hz void.

I suppose it depends on the band. I could care less about hearing the bass when it is playing the guitar riffs note for note. On the other hand there are some cool bass parts going on with bands like Necrophagist, Death, Vintersorg, Opeth Etc.....
 
Who is this band? They sound rad as hell.

Good sounding mix, too, over my laptop speakers.
