Dude thats fantastic. Very clean and clear mix. Great guitar sounds all around. Great re-arrangement of the song. Your stuff always sounds awesome and this is no different. :)

thanks so much, for listening, and for the kind words.

that was a Zoom 123 drum machine. the only song on the 'trouble' cd, that wasn't done with live drums.
i really wanted a real drummer, but time constraints had me go to the old drum machine....

EddieRay
thanks man~!

P.S.
let me tell you something about this cover, and why i did it slower and arranged it the way i did...

i recorded this, the week after katrina hit new orleans, and i used to live in new orleans, and the song took on a completely different meaning afterwards...
for me, this song is kind of like a 'wake'.

great song man, drums sound good very natural for a drum machine

I hate drum machines mostly cause I am a drummer but this song kicks ass!

Nice, And well done.

Wow! That brings out a whole new personality to 3 chords! Great work!;):cool:

THANKS for listening...
the little zoom machine doesn't sound half bad, for being a super cheap drum machine.
i tried to use it as sparingly as possible, maybe that helped!!
LOL

Herm
i hear you about the machines!!
but i'm glad you liked it anyway...
i don't think that machine is going to steal anybody's job! :D

slowrider
3 chords, i'll tell you, it was tough to figure out a way to play those chords different, somehow, and still make it my own, and still keep true to the song.
thanks for checking it out!

slowrider-

actually, i played about 4 different versions of the 'D' chord on this one.

not very true to the original!
LOL :D

ermmmm squawk

I'm not going to listen yet as I'm swatting up for a depping gig on Sunday as I type

ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to ask did the Taylor got through the mesa as well????:D:D:D:D:D, everything else went through it (mesa)

I look forward to hearing your version as I'm sick to death of it as a song.......EVERY FREAKIN' WEDDING I PLAY!!!!!!!

anyway swat, swat, swat, learn, learn, learn--------------------->

I wish I hadn't listened to that.......I feel even worse about the crap I do now :o

That is truly fantastic.

In the UK that song is a bit of a joke - kind of like the archetypal song your dad dances to at a wedding - but that was a great version, brilliantly played and recorded.

My stuff's going on e-bay tomorrow - should fetch about 25 quid.

slidey
the taylor, got the hamburg/A Designs Audio MP-1 preamp treatment...

let me know what you think after you hear it.
i guarantee, it wont be like any version you ever played at a wedding!!
LOL :D

lasagne
thanks for the kind words, and the listen.....
and hold on to your stuff!!

thanks tex!
i tried to mix up the guitar sounds quite a bit on this one...

there's a lot going on, but it's all supposed to be real subtle, kind of a blend of several completely different things going on at once, to create a single big sound...

acoustic tracks...
12 string electric tracks...
straight electric rhythm tracks.....
slide guitar....
lots of ear candy!

glad you liked it

I rarely visit this forum but when I do and listen to a song of this calibre, makes me wanna say this cover kicks absolute ass! You've made it your own. Well, well done and I could have sworn, hand on bible, that this was a real drum kit, if the secret wasn't out. :D;)

That does it, I am selling all my gear and quitting fooling myself.

I can't compete with this... :(

I really dig when artist put there own spin on a classic tune....this is very creative and unique.Outstanding production....not much to add to what has already been said....enjoyed the hell outta this ...Great Job Man!
