EL34

Clown car chauffeur
Haven't been here in quite a while. Got a billion things on my plate lately.
I was messing around with The Steve Vai tune, Bad Horsie.

I didn't have time to create the drum track so I used a backing track.
Saved me a bunch of time. ;D
Is that grounds for dismissal? :o

Check it out and let me know how the volume levels are.
Thanks.

Cool cover EL34....when you ask about volume levels, are you referring to comparison of backing to what you did or to the levels of your guitars....in places the lead seems to jump out a bit too much...such as 2:15 for example...and seems to disconnect with the backing.

I love the back and forth panning of the lead.

I would love to hear you playing with a live band EL and doing some original stuff...I bet you could smoke that axe...:D

smoking axes, is that legal?
I love to smoke chainsaws, have to try axes.

Thanks True,
I've got to go over this tune again.
Some of the background bass and drum stuff is too loud and some of the leads are too loud as you said.

I'll mess with it some more and post back.
Appreciate you taking the time to give it a listen. :p

The tones are really nice as is the playing.

The one bit of advice I would say is to watch the rhythm. You seem to be riding the front of beat a lot and rushing just a bit. It's most evident in the moving rhythm part at the beginning, but it's there in the melody too. It's slight, but it's there.

IMHO, with this type of tune, it's really important to sit way back in the pocket for it to groove really hard, and it seems as though you're racing ahead a little too much.

But nice tone, and nice licks! Good job.

:D:D:D:D:D...Smoking that axe may not be illegal..but I am sure the affects of it are..!!;)

Wow...quite the chainsaw you have there.:D:p

18 inches of hot steel baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always seem to rush the beat a bit.
It does sound better when you lay back a bit.

Premature chainsawation?
Good beginning - I'm not into shred stuff personally after seing Jeff Beck in '77 the rest of the guitar instrumentalisms became irrelevant but good tone & playing.
Does the lead lean to the L a little?
Now I wanna hear your version of the Osmonds' Crazy Horses!

Thanks for the comments all. I need to re-mix this badly.

hmmm, ok

You got that right about Jeff Beck. IMO no one can touch Beck.

I'm not a shredder either, but I like the best of the shredders like Satriani and Vai. Can't really stand the copy cats or neo-classical stuff except some of the early Yngwie stuff without vocals singing about being a vikinig.

Cool.....

What else can I say?

I'm jealous...

Where is the green with envy smiley?

Who would've known the lumbering business had so much sex appeal in it...after all, it's just wood....

:eek::D

Okay...now back to that BAD horsie....

Okey, dokey, girls and boys.
I played with the levels on all the tracks and made another mix

Same link as the original, I just copied over it on the server.

I still want to correct some of the off time things here and there when I get some time, but see how the levels are in this mix first if you will.

Thanks all
