So my lead singer is a mezzo-soprano and I am a Tenor, there's also an other member that is Tenor that would do backing vocals too.

My problem is that whatever i or the other dude sings we always seem to make the vocals sound bad...

I have no technique at all in back vocal so anyone has an idea of what to do with 2 tenor backing a mezzo-soprano?

Sing in key? What makes what you do sound 'bad'? If you and the other guy are both singing the same notes and one or both of you are slightly off-pitch it can sound bad, or even if you are singing different notes and one/both are off pitch it can sound bad.

Can you post some examples?
I've spent the last week layering up backing vocals on about 20 songs. Maybe I can help?

There's not that much to it, though, but tell (or show) us exactly what's going wrong.

Yeah post an audio sample so we can hear the band.
It's either pitch or picking the wrong harmony or unison that doesn't blend.
