Here's my new one taking me back to my darker side....:D
I found these funny speeches from Dubya on youtube and built this around them. It's an anti-war song...
Shredding solo in the middle is from Chris.
This is still a first mix, so there's definitely something I can do better.
Appreciate your comments.

Very cool groove on this tune. Great harmonies. Nice job.

Pretty heavy man. Mix sounds great. Drums sound good. Guitars sound really good. Vocals sound damn good. Shit, okay the whole mix sounds good.

The song doesn't do much for me though, personally. I mean it's good, but it's a little too long for me and just kind of plods along at the same tempo. The intro is a little long. The lead break is really cool, but I'd like more of that badass quadruple time ending thrown in for some variety. Or maybe kick the choruses up into a steady hard rocking beat. The choruses don't seem to bring the energy up like it feels like they should. It's like the verses are cool and there seems to be a build up, but the money shot doesn't happen in the chorus. You're blue-balling me man! :D

You did a fantastic job though. I'm just an old retarded punk rocker, so don't mind me. ;)

Joey's on the darkside once again - sounds like a line from Springsteen!
Dubya is going to be missed by humourists of all political persuasions.
Apocalyptic guitars really go with George Jr's voice don't they.
A little Mediterranean flavour on the lead lines before the vocals?
What Greg said about the chorus!
The vocals reminded me of Iron Maiden for some reason.
Excellent recording.
Welcome back to the shadowed corner Joey.

Haha, first time I've heard that my drums sound good[/I]
Thanx Greg, you might be right about the length, it's definitely not a radio song. The beginning is that long because of Dubya (yeah, blame it on Dubya...:D) I promise to do more of those quadruple time rythms on my future songs, I just don't feel like doing anything else to the arrangement of this one. I wanna get the 12 songs I've done this year on a CD now and start anew. These last 2 are more fillers than anything else, or just mixing practice.
And you're anything but retarded, so keep telling me what sucks, OK......:D

Ah, you noticed didn't you? Been eating any Maltese pastizzi down under lately? :D
Yes the chorus could use some up-pepping, but I'll save that for the future.
As for Dubya, I laughed myself sick when I saw those speeches on youtube, although it is sad that they were for real.....
Love the comparison with Bruce D.!
Thanx for listening Ray! :):):):)

Pretty much agree with everything that's been said....Reminds me of the 80's christian metal band Barren Cross....Excellent musician-work and production.

Thanks Jp!
Gotta look that band up, never heard them.

I don't generally listen to music like this at all so I can't add anything of any use in commenting on the song.

I will say that the musicianship is very tight-sounding and the mix is very well done.

*bumpitybump*

...Mary had a little lamb.......

and I fuckin' ate it! ....... and it was delicous....:D

Mix is spot on, J ... particularly when I know how tough it is to keep a rockin' bottom end and still seat the vocal in a clear pocket.

But you did it. Nice work, I've nothing to add that could make it better.

Kev-

Thanx Kev!
It's all thanx to the wonderful people on this site that I'm learning how to do it;).
Funny but since I've started using using a simple SM58 on the vocals, they seem to sit better. Guess it has the right frequencies for my voice. It was also my go-to mic years ago when I did live gigs.
Appreciate your comments!
