don't know if anyone will remember me...I was all over this site when I got into home recording with a Tascam MKIII...I had to sell everything..But was fortunate enough to get back into recording a few years back with a korg D3200...I know this is an analogue forum and I am using (ugh) digtal gear but I wanted to see who all was still involved...all of my music is on my website.. a one man band project called the "Art Schaerer Combo"...

please check out the music page...now playing is "Late in The Evening" by Sir Paul Simon.

great to hear from you Dave..always enjoyed your beatle covers and you were always beyond helpful when I started into this home recording thing. Of course I did keep my Tascam MKIII...wouldn't sell that rig ever....tell you what, I use to score 60 minute tapes from Guitar center and they quit carryingthem...All I ever see anywhere is 90 minutes(ugh)..Haven't checked redio shack, they may carry tdk or something..just cant fathom using 90 min tapes....been having dreams of a tascam 388 lately...but i am pushing through the learning curve of the Korg D3200..A guy in France sells a vga rig that hoos up so you can use a standard monitor as opposed to the ridiculous tiny monitor that comes with the 3200...but i sure as hell miss the flying magnets as opposed to the ones and zeroes and don't care what anyone says, fidelity is a factor period between analog and digital..but i always pull out the MKIII for acoustic stuff...big difference...take care my friend and you were the first cyber musician who really got me going...your sharing of knowledge to the "newbies" was/is beyond kind...wouldn't have gone anywhere without your assistance back in the day..

Try totalmedia dot com and go for C90s if C60s are not available. A C90's satisfactory in most regards, and gives more recording time too!

Keep in touch!

thanks dave...you have me inspired to get back in to the MKIII; oddly enough some of the features on that rig are more advanced than the digital stuff...will check out that site.. I always thought less minutes, better tape..my health got a bit off track so i am doing a lot more recording...it is just so damn satisfying like finishing a painting..

thanks again...will check out your beatle stuff if you are still doing that..always dug your beatles recordings...
