how would you guys rate and compare this behringer b1 and thesse mxl's??? i want a vocal condenser for $100 bucks for local demos and home recording...it would be for regular male rock vocals...so singing not SCCRREAAAMMINIINNNGGG!!!

what about the STUDIO PROJECTS B-1? I think most people here would tell you the SP B-1 kicks the Behringer's a$#!

I'm curious about what responses you get here though. I'm also looking at the 990, and the v67G and SP B-1, or maybe even the C-1. I wish I could be of more help, but unfortunately I haven't tried any of these mics.

oh yeah...i actually mean the studio projects b1 sorry..im stupid

I actually just picked up a v67G on eBay for $81.99, including shipping, supposedly brand new and unopened...I'll find out soon enough! (fingers crossed) There are definitely deals to be found, if you look around enough, and know who to trust.

I'm curious Crazydoc, what type of voice do you have? And what do you like best about the sound of it on the v67? What's different about it on the other two mics?

Also, do you find yourself using the v67 for most things, or do you pull out the 990 and B-1 to record acoustic guitar, for example?

the SP B1, and Marshalls MXL990,v67,v93M are all fine mics and depending on the voice, and all should do a good job, but depending on the specific voice, one may shine, and the only way to find that one out is to try them all......

I have sort of a bland baritone voice - the 67 makes my voice sound fuller I guess, which would be nice if I sang ballads. But I sing old timey type music and I wish my voice had a timbre like that of Willie Nelson that could cut right thru you. Haven't found a mic that will do that yet - may just be the voice can't be helped.

I've used the MXL603, SPB1 and Behringer ECM8000 on acoustic with not much success yet (poor technique and room), but will try a pair of 990's soon.
