B1 To 990? How Much Better?

How much better is a SP B1 compared to a MXL990 ? I'm thinking of getting a studio projects B1 I have a MXL990 already.

Come to think of it, I would be hard pressed to find two other condenser mics that, for so little difference in price, have so large a difference in sound and versatility. Anyone?

I say, go with the B1.

The MC-319 and V67G are also in the same price range as the B1 and 990... and all four mics sound totally different from each other.

Amen---and, based on personal experience (I also own a V67G and a pair of MC319 [MK319] mics), I don't think that the 990 outperforms any of the others mentioned.
