Hi i want to noe wut are the differences between going computer based or just buying the equipment ..thxz

The difference is your BUDGET, the type of music you are creating, your skill level, and your PREFERENCE.

Another difference is that some perfer a more hands-on approach. Hardware I think is the best and easiest. Software is getting better though. I like using a combination of both.

If I were starting today I would go with software as with a PC or Mac you have more options than with a hardware piece that was made to do specific tasks. With software you have more flexiability...........

With that said ... I won't trade my hardware setups for anything as I am an old dogg that is too lazy to learn new tricks.....

Rat

Good point raticus but, those hardware devices do the job they are made for better than software.

Yes, but those jobs are usually very limited and strict not easily upgradable etc... Again I am a hardware guy tho...

Yeah, I know but those hardware devices can eihter be good for years or just suck.

and... lol Why am I defending hardware. I'm a software guy :D

well, i think i'll go for the software coz we dont have the budget...what software would you recommend anyway?....just new here! hello al!

What do you want to do? Make beats? Record? Both? What your budget?
