two entirely different mics. Both large diaphram condensers. The studio projects B-1 is a tube mic and quite good. I've never heard the behringer... you could give it a try but they don't have a good reputation for quality.

Actually the SP b1 is a large diaphragm condenser, but not a tube mic. The TB-1 is the tube model.

do you know what tube is in the SP b-1, I'd like to get my hands on one, I hear they are very lightweight

hey doc,

The behr.(at least the one I tried) is a very bright mic, it sounds good on, hmmm, a nylon string acoustic, or something that needs to a bit of accent on the high end. Not bad for overhead in some cases. I didn't care for it on vocals. Needed too much EQ to keep it in check, Comes in a nice box for the money, with a shockmount, and who knows, maybe you find a use for it.

The SB is thicker sounding, I didn’t use one myself, but one of my associates let me hear a track he did with it, It’s better suited for vocals in my opinion.

All and all they are both good deals, for vocals I’d rech for the SP
