recording was really good, but I agree that in death metal, the guitars need to be pushed up front. The extreme vocals were fine. Nice sound by the drum kit. The clean vocals basically sucked ass. The female vocalist need some lessons on how to project her voice, and seem to be out of key. Overall the production was good, for the exception of the bad performance on vocals. I love hearing clean vocals on death metal records, but one need to be able sing first.

Since you dug this up, I think I will state:
What the fuck does pantera know? They only sold what, a couple million records? Anybody who does not understand that the reason people dig them is because they revolutionized metal/thrash with a whole new sound, does not have any business in the music industry - or at least recording metal.
 
All in all cloneboy did post a really good mix and some really detailed notes on how he did it. I appreciate that. Everything else is just noise imho.

Listen to early Pantera... you know, the glammed out, faggoty shit that made Bon Jovi look positively masculine that morons like you try to forget about. Now fast forward a few years to when Pantera totally ripped off another band's (Exhorder) sound, style, lyrics to the point of DUPLICATION.

I hope you know more about recording than you do Pantera, but chances of that are zero. If you had the faintest clue about recording you'd realize Pantera sounds like absolute and total shit, and is clueless, witless, gutless music for rednecks.

why are you people basically calling cloneboy an asshole just because he doesn't like pantera? WTF are you guys that rediculous? And also the statement, about people not belonging in the music business for not liking a certain band? Do you realize how stupid and absurd that is?

No, what I said is that anyone who doesn't understand the influence and importance Pantera had on the sound of metal doesn't have any business recording metal. This isn't necessarily about whether you personally like them or not. The fact is, they changed the sound of metal, and lot's of people want their sound. To disregard that just because you don't like them is silly.
 
oh okay. But still even if someone didn't understand that, why don't they have business recording metal? I never understood these type of conclusions. But seriously it's kinda rediculous having a fight over something so stupid. Who cares what he feels about pantera. Why do you take offense to it?

My thoughts.....he did a good job with this tune. I really enjoyed it. I don't care how he feels about Pantera. I love Pantera, and if he doesn't like them, his opinion. I'm sure he likes stuff I don't. End of story for me.....I'd rather post pics of a Farting Dog....
