ok so for a while i wasnt in a band so i made the mistake of selling all my live gear except for my pedals. but for recording i was using an axe fx ultra, ada mp 1, and a modded ada mp1. and fooled around with gtr and guitar rig but couldnt get anything i liked. anyway now that im in 2 bands im going to buy some amps. which also means i want to make the ultimate guitar studio.

i was thinking i could continue to use my rack stuff some but i might as well start recording loud amps. im probably going to get a fender combo amp of some sort mainly for clean tones. then maybe getting a mesa boogie mark iv or triple rectifier or dual rectifier and a 5150 ii. along with a genz benz 2x12 like i used to have and getting a marshall 4x12 and modding it to make it really kick ass. then making an iso box for the cabs and combo amp. i also still have my trusty 57 so ill just use that guy and leave him in the iso box. oh and also ive read to not put tube combos in iso boxes due to heat so maybe i could just leave a space or make a door that i can just leave open when its in there. also anyone have any suggestions on mics that are around the same price as the 57? i was thinking an sennheiser e609, 906, 606, audix i5, or even jsut another 57 to put behind the the cab or on a different speaker or different spot on the speaker. (although i wish i could afford a royer r121 love the 57 and 121 combination).

my main question (because im torn between the three) is which mesa should i get? i play/record mainly metal/hardcore (one band is mostly southern hardcoreish), ambient/post-rock, and hip hop. ide say ide just get 2 mesa's but i feel like that wouldnt give me as many tonal options plus i just love the 5150s/6505s.

i love the tones of all three, so thats really the reason why im asking all you wonderful people. which one do you think records better? which one is more versatile? etc, etc,.

any opinions, thoughts are welcome and thanks in advance. :).

ps i know what i have now is awesome but i miss recording real amps, and for anyone wondering im borrowing my friends fender deluxe and running the axe fx through power section for live use right now. its great but i want an actual 4x12 kicking my a$$ and probably going to use the axe for effects live. or may even get an atomic mono block to run with as a live thing. or record an amp i dont have.

sorry for going on for so long, once i start talking about this stuff i get excited and keep going. haha.
