what is your best chord on the guitar in open tuning or otherwise?

i think i like the sound of a C7 moved up the neck for a kind of jazzy sound but i also like weird open shapes as well. how about you guys?

sus2 chords are my favorite. Cool ambiguous feel...they generally work well in place of any minor or major chords, especially when played on an acoustic.

i was just about to say that shape. except i'd change the 12 to an 11th fret.

D,A,D,F,A,D this one kicks for blues and slide. It has a minor sound and dosent require a lot of movement for a killer sound. I wont swear to it but I think you can hear this tuning on a lot of ZZ Top songs.

I like to put my thumb on the E string to mute it when playing any D chord, and I do it to some A chords too.

Yeah, drop d on a 12 string is nice. I did a tune called "how many friends" using this chord A LOT on a 12 string. If you want to listen, you'll find it by hitting the link below.

or you can move it back up the neck to the second fret for a nice F# chord

TIP. play these chords really hard and slide back and forth for some real power and maybe even use a LP with some drive on it and rock out.
