This past Christmas, my mom surprised me with my first recording software. Needless to say, I was extremely stoked and thankful for such a great gift!
First, let’s start out with the names of the products I have:
1. Avid Vocal Studio: includes Pro Tools SE software and M-Audio Producer USB Microphone
2. Avid Recording Studio: includes Pro Tools SE software and M-Audio Fast Track Audio Interface
Considering I’ve never used recording software before, I knew I would face a lot of challenges in getting used to how everything works. So far, I have downloaded the software, and recorded some vocals and guitar. My problem is figuring out how to put my guitar tracks and my vocals together to create an actual mp3. I’ve read a few places that say I would have to purchase yet another product to do this (I personally think its kind of bogus considering how expensive these products are already!). Over all, I am extremely confused about the whole software, and I’m praying that I can finally get some answers!
Between YouTube tutorials, and a gazillion web sites, I’ve combed through the internet for answers, and haven’t found a thing.
I just want to be able to separately record my vocals and guitar, add the desired effects to both, and bring them together to create an mp3 song (which is what I should be ale to do!). Hopefully I’ve explained myself clear enough to understand for ya’ll. I’m just ready to record and actually RECORD knowing that I can get a song out of it.
Please let me know if there is any other information about these products that you need to help me more accurately! A friend recommended this site to me, and I’m hoping that this cry for help will be worth it in the end.
Thank you to anyone who is reading this and is willing to help me out!
