Okay I've got the jist of most of this but am confused with this one thing. I'm having an issue with connecting my Xpression effects unit to the aux's of my mixer.

I currently have this:

MP-1 preamp effects send to BBE in
BBE out to Xpression in
Xpression out to effects receive MP-1

My 1202 has 2 channels of aux send and 2 stereo aux returns.

I'm getting confused on setting the last of my chain (Xpression) into the mixer and then returning to my receive on my preamp.

Anyone got any ideas?

What are you trying to do? Why would you need the mixer in your guitar chain?
What you would do is run the xpression into 2 channels of the board and turn up aux 1 on the first channel and aux 2 on the second. Hook the aux 1 and 2 outputs to the return on the mp-1. Oh and get rid of the BBE.
It really sounds like you are making things a lot more complicated than they need to be.

I dig my current setup and I was just experimenting that's all. If you think there are no benefits from trying this then I'll leave it alone. Thus the old saying. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You just won't let me get by without taking out my BBE will you? ;) I did take it out after I modded my amp and it does sound pretty good without it. Again a little more experimentation with the BBE in the modded amp and I'll go from there.

The more stuff you have in the chain, the more degredation and noise you introduce. Taking the output of the effects unit at that point (assuming a distorted guitar sound) will really sound like crap without a cabinet simulator of some sort. The BBE thing was tounge in cheek but , now that I think about it, you just had the amp modified to get rid of some of the grainy high end and then you are adding it with the BBE. That does seem silly. It is always better to get the sound with the least amout of equipment as possible. There will be less things to go wrong and less noise to deal with in the long run.

okay, so I plugged the BBE back in the chain and it's confirmed that it sounded like poop. So kudos to you for saying it would. I've removed it from my chain and opened up some rack space as well. :D
