My soundtracs solo 24 mixer has 6 aux sends and returns. I've got 3 effects processors in my rack that I want to wire into the Aux. I've done this on numerous occasions with previous mixers but I can't seem to figure it out on this console.
For Example.....I've got a lexicon unit I want to hook into Aux 1. So i go from the Left out of the lexicon to the aux 1 input and from the stereo Return 1 out to the Lexicon input.
Setup this way I get signal to the lexicon but im only getting Effects on the left side of my mix. The stereo Return has a Pan knob as well. When I pan hard left the effect stays on. When I pan Hard right I get no effect. Panned Center I only get effects on the left side. I've tried this with my other 2 units as well and Im having the same problem.
My question is this....Is it possible that the Aux 1 input jack is a true stereo jack or TRS? I don't have a manual so I can't check and see but has anyone ever heard of a mixer being that way? My last mixer you had to use 2 aux if you wanted to do true stereo effects.
It is used so its possible that the aux are damaged but it doesn't seem likely to me that all 6 aux would be messed up in the same way.
Any thoughts or help greatly appreciated.

If you've got it worded right in your post, you're doing it backwards as far as the routing goes.

The Aux input goes to the in of the effect processor and the outs go to the return. Try this and you should find success.

Correction, the aux OUTPUT goes to the FX units input, and the FX units output goes to the stereo return's inputs. You should be able to route aux 1 to your lexicon (with 1 cable), and then with two cables return from the left and right outputs of your Lexi to the left and right inputs on a stereo channel. Sometimes stereo channels will have a button that either allows you to select between an actualy mono input, and a true stereo input. Also, often times on a stereo channel, the xlr inout feeds both left and right, while the 1/4" inputs only feed their respected channels. Good luck:)

SCientist- I worded it wrong in my original post. Thanks for the help anyways.

X-static- the stereo return jack was a single 1/4" jack. I experimented and answered my own question. Turns out it was in fact a "TRS" jack hence no signal on the right side when using a non TRS cable. Looks like I need to pick up some more insert cables. I swear it never stops haha.

thanks for the help.

Ahhh, the whole time I was thinking of a stereo channel, not an actual "return". Yes, anything "stereo" on a single jack would have to be TRS as opposed to standard 1/4" unbablanced.
