Hey I use cubase SX2 and I don't understand the autotune. When i turn it on my vocal disappears completely and when i turn it off it comes back. How do I use it correctly? please help. Thanks.

mabye your vocals are beyond hope? and this program is just smart enough to eliminate them completely?

just kidding

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I wanted to say that. :p

But, seriously, I have no idea. Autotune is evil.

I tried to use autotune once. I couldn't get it to work properly either. I don't like it...

i've used it on magix music maker before, . i had to open it up as a plug in from the effects rack section to get it to work right. if i opened it up seperately it did what youre mentioning , just sortof muted the sound,, but when it actually worked i found it to be pretty useful for a few different things , its pretty cool on guitar parts, as far as correcting vocals, as long as they were close to the right pitch it would fix it up nicely on the automatic mode, i never effed with the graphical mode, but i hear it is much better if you can use it properly. but, anyways, try opening it from your effects rack as a direct x plug in , if you're already doing that, then i'm sorry for rambling on for nothing,. lol. i'm sure someone can help you more

Run it as a plug in. If for some reason it can also run standalone, it may be stealing your soundcard driver from Cubase when it initializes.

RTFM! :D

Actually, I second the idea of *NOT* using Autotune (AKA: Otto Toone) as it is just plain dirty... ;)

Autospell?

Nah, my first impression is that they're running the "autocrack" version sans manuals ...also without the "autospell" feature!

Running autotune in automatic mode doesn't work very well. You need to run it in manual. Your owners manual will help you with that.

yea...it's not the "fix-all" for bad performances...I've used it from time to time but to correct select brief moments requiring clean up. On extended/held notes, it can sound "wrong" if the note is way off.

i gave antares autotune 3 and oncde i read my manuels i can use it fine the vocal just has to bve atleast kinda close to the notes lol ... so it doesnt work on my voice
