Automation switched from diagonal to blocks. How do I fix?

Ok, I used to be able to draw diagonal automation for my virtual instrument tracks, but now everything switched to blocks.

This is what it does now.




This is what I want to get back to.

I'm automating a knob in a virtual instrument plugin. (Assigned it to the 'cutoff' in massive)

I still can draw the diagonals in volume trim and other things. But I had some shapes drawn for the cutoff in massive, and the next time I opened protools the shapes were all messed up and converted to that block style.
