Hi

I was wondering whether someone could help me out please

I use Cubase AI4 and the issue is re: the Cubase Mono Delay plugin.

I am trying to add delay the very end of a track. The easiest way that I know of, is by automating the delay i.e. removing the bypass of the plugin at the point I want it to kick in.

If I place the cursor without any automation at the point I want it to start and press play, the delay sounds exactly how I want it based on the plugin settings.

However, once I activate write and remove the bypass at the exact same spot, the sound of the delay starts at an earlier point of the track, and also changes the sound i.e. makes the delay longer and faster.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Thanks

David

Try placing the delay on an FX channel, the automate the 'Power' button from the 'Send'

You could also send the output of the channel to the stereo bus as well as an FX channel and just automate the volume on the FX channel :)

Yeah it has something to do with the way cubase does automation. Right click on the track and "show all used automation"

Then erase it from coming on at that point.

Also: Sometimes bypassing a plugin creates a pop noise, if that happens then automate the mix knob to drop out fast instead.

I tend to turn on the delay at the point that it sounds right, rather than the point that it looks like it should go on.
But I think the best way is to have the delay on constantly on an FX channel, and use a send to hear the delay.
