automation in amplitube

hey guys, anyone know how to switch from a clean channel to a distortion channel in amplitube 2 using automation.

i tried using "write" in both the plugin and te host (cubase studio 4), but the knob chaneel switching does not get written

I know this is not what you lookin for, but why don't you just seperate your clean tracks from your distortion tracks and place them in different channels or split the track into different objects and apply amplitube seperately to each object?
