automating insert fx

can you automate the level of individual effects in an insert channel in cubase? i.e. more delay on a certain part of a file while the level of the rest of the tracks remains constant?

can you change the paramaters of an effect halfway through a track? i.e. changing the compression ratio on a bass track for different parts of a song...

Can you freeze effects on tracks like you can in Adobe Audition?


These are the main things I do not like about Adobe Audition and I'm wondering if this stuff is possible with Cubase. I'm sick of doing shitty bus workarounds although I'm sure the bussing system in Cubase is much better than Auditions.

Yes, you can with VST plugins. I've never tried with direct X plugs.

You can automate DirectX too. Virtually every parameter, for any track or any plugin can be automated. SX3 can freeze insert FX and/or Virtual Instruments (Older versions can only freeze instruments but not the FX too).
