Ausio cutting out in Cubase 5.....

Hi.

When i have a midi and audio track playing in Cubase, they both play fine, unless i open up the midi track into the matrix editor, and then the audio cuts out. Anyone know why?
 
I have the same problem, wav files will not play unless the cubase program is the selected window, bring up any other wondow/ program and the audio stops whereas midid remains. Don't know why though.

Do you have the [Edit Solo] button enabled? (upper left corner of the editor window) This will cause audio to be muted when the editor is opened.
