Audix OM-3xb for acoustics?

I just got my hands on a few used Audix OM-3xb's. I'm trying to use them with my lexicon Omega, but i can't really get it to pick up much sound unless I sing right into it, and it will barely pick up any of my guitar... is there any solution to this? or is it just the mic?

They're designed with a very tight pick pattern and you have the be when in 2-3 inches to get a good sound.
