Audix i5

I wanted another sm57. I couldn't get them to budge at GC because they said they already don't make much money on Shures because of how they are priced (this was my first time trying to haggle GC). Well, the guy said the $99 Audix i5 was just as good, so I talked him down to $75 dollars. My question is: is it really as good? I won't hesitate to take it back if it's a rip off. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

I5's are fine. They don't sound much like a 57, though. They lack the mid hump, and have a bit more in the highs.

That's what I thought when looking at the response sheet. I've tried it on my snare and it sounds pretty damn good. Thanks man.

I picked up a couple just for grins. I rather like them. It's not an SM57 in disguise but it is useful.

If I had to compare, I find them to be much more like an e609.
