I was tweaking with these last night and I discovered my problem and why i was getting such horrible sound. My mixer was too loud..the ST thing was peaking too high and it was turning red and way past 0. Sorry I dont know the details or techincal terms
But these mics, with well tuned drums can get fairly decent sound. Im going to get a 57 to replace the snare mic eventually but these are not a bad investment. Dont get me wrong, there are mnay better mics, but for 300 bucks, from a company like Audix, it is a great deal for beginner recorders who just want to cut a demo or a first CD.
Just my 2 cents.
