They look like decent mics. I've used a 4040 on both acoustic, and electric guitar, with good results. I mainly boutght it for vocals though, and not sure how it compares directly to these 2 mics.

And as far as electric guitar, most people will mic the cabinet, if they can. And 2 mics can make for some good sounds.
