Iwas just given an Audio Technica AT 825 microphone. What is the best application for this mic? I think it is a condenser mic, but, as ignorant as it may seem, I'm not really sure what that means, or how it differs from my sure 57 or 58. It also has a switch that could either be set pointing to a staight line, or a slightly bent line. I think it has something to do with it being a stereo mic, but any info anyone has is much appreciated...
That mic is a stereo model (essentially, it's two cardiod condensors in a single body). The switch you mention is a bass roll off switch with the roll off starting at 150Hz/6dB per octave. It'll run on both a battery or phantom power. http://www.audio-technica.com/prodpro/profiles/AT825.html
