I just bought a copy of cubase vst 5 and am having a great deal of problems with recording audio. I have a creative labs soundblaster audigy card When I try and record audio into cubase it records but cuts of the first two bars when played back you can here it but the audio is not visible until two bars in. I have tried change the asio driver and this only causes me more problems in the sense that it only registers one ofthe sound cards inputs and when i play my guitar in its as if there is a a delay effect on it and it feedsback andjust gets louder and louder. As you can probably tell I am very new to computer recording and any advice any one can give me would be really helpful.
Thanks
Geoff

it's called Preroll. It gives you a 2 bar count before it starts recording.

In VST32 5.0 double click on the 'Click' button in the transport control. It will give you the controls for Preroll, Precount, how many bars etc...

its not preroll

I know this its after the two bar click intro it records but does not show audio recorded but it does play back cheers for the advice though any other thought would be great.
cheers

Hmm...so it's just that you don't see the waveform, but the audio is actually being recorded. How about if you zoom in on the waveform. Can you see the missing part there?

basicly looking at the arrangement window the audio track appears to start two bars in but it plays from bar one but visibly its not there I wondered if it had anything to do with the fact I am using a creative sound card?
cheers

I don't think it has anything to do with the soundcard. Let me see if I can reproduce your problem and I'll let you know.
