Audio Interface Upgrade

I am a first time user on computer recording and I have a simple setup.

A M-audio MOBILE PRE USB and would like to know what would be the best upgrade for a better audio interface?

I have one of these, and it kicks ass, but without knowing your budget or what your recording goals are it would be impossible to tell you if you'd like it.

and also ,would a internal sound card be necessary cause I have a m-audio 2496 internal sound card(no load up cd for it though) . would it make any difference in my recordings?
