I'm just getting my feet wet with home recording on my computer. The biggest problem so far is that the headphone output from my audio card is so low that hearing the first track is difficult when I'm laying down another track. The sound is okay on speakers, just not on headphones. This has been a problem with the card ever since I got it (it's actually built onto the motherboard) but I lived with it until I tried recording. I've tried a couple of other headphones with the same result, so I assume that isn't the problem.

I'm hoping I can get some suggestions here. Thanks.

Yes, I'm plugging straight into the card, but that wasn't a problem with my old card. With that one, I had to keep the volume down so I didn't blast my ears off, so I assumed there was a problem with the newer card.

Thanks for the link and info.
