Audigy 2 PCMCIA: Help my friend!

I'm a total MIDI retard and my friend just sent me this question in an email. Please can you help me?! :confused:
You know I have the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro soundcard and breakout box? Yes
I do,

well i've been getting increasingly interested in MIDI triggering off my
DD-50 drum machine using a piece of software called Vienna for creating
soundfonts. Basically this means I can hit a pad and out comes a burst of
Wav or some other assigned sound.

All cool, but I'd like to get this kind of stuff onto a laptop setup.

So I find that creative have released an Audigy ZS 2 notebook which is
PCMCIA format. This gets me excited as it appears to be the same card in a
laptop format - what it doesn't say on the spec anywhere is that it can (or
cannot) handle MIDI.

I spy on it that it has a connecting port for a docking cable for speakers -
this is the same type of cable as feeds my breakout box for my current card.
So I wonder if i can connect the two, as then I will have MIDI I/O. but I
need to know if it can handle the signals and whatnot.

I went on the creative forums and am awaiting replies, but just thought I'd
call on some other sources.

Creating Music
You can set up a home music studio using your audio device.

Put together your own productions consisting of multiple music tracks from a MIDI Synthesizer or an electric guitar. Alternatively, connect your electric guitar using a Pre-amp Box to the Microphone In/Line In/Optical In jack (3.50 mm or 1/8-inch jack). Use a convertor if your Pre-amp Box comes with a larger connector, for example, a 6.35 mm (1/4-inch) connector.

Select ASIO 2.0 drivers for low latency multitracking (simultaneous stereo recording and multichannel playback).

I never tried myself, but I'm not sure PCMCIA nor USB version can handle soundfonts the way PCI does. It's better to try before buy. Well, maybe they have MIDI I/O port, but still I doubt they can handle soundfonts. However, he can use stand alone drums synth/sampler to do MIDI triggering. I could be wrong anyway... :)
